It's important to compare the various brands and their published sensitivity levels. The sensitivity is measured in terms of how little Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) they can detect in your urine. The lower the number, the more sensitive the test is to detecting HCG.
A normal non-pregnant woman will have a HCG level of less than 5 mIU/ml. When you become pregnant your HCG levels start at between 5 and 50 mIU/ml and then double every two to three days. If you want to test early and know sooner whether you're pregnant or not, then you'll need an ultra sensitive test such as ours. Should the test be any more sensitive to HCG than 15 mIU/ml, there would be an increased chance of false positives. This makes our ARTG listed 15 mIU/ml pregnancy tests the ideal sensitivity for reliable results, as early as possible.
Please note that having an ultra sensitive test may detect when a chemical pregnancy happens, whereas other tests may not.
