Follow directions exactly
- Read all test instructions carefully and completely before using.
- Use only as directed. For vitro diagnostic use only, not for internal use
- Do not use as a form of birth control.
Store safely
- Store tests at room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
- Do not remove from the sealed pouch until right before you are about to perform the test.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use beyond the expiration date. Each test has a shelf life of 2 years.
- For single use only. Do not reuse.
Factors that may affect results
- The test will not work correctly if you are pregnant, menopausal, or taking birth control pills.
- Medication containing hcG or LH should not be taken while using these tests as they may affect results
- Other common drugs such as analgesics and antibiotics should not affect results.
When to test
It is recommended to begin testing 9 days after the first day of your menstrual cycle. The first day of the cycle is considered the first day of menstrual bleeding. This is based on the average cycle length on 28 days. You should test each day for the next 5 days or until an LH surge is detected.
The best time to collect your urine is between 10am and 8pm. It helps to reduce liquid intake 2 hours before testing to produce a more concentrated sample. Collect your urine at the same time each day in a clean, dry container at room temperature. Do not test first thing in the morning, as LH does not show up in the urine until later in the day.
Quick and easy procedure
- Collect your urine in a clean, dry container. Remove the test from its sealed pouch and use as soon as possible.
- Immerse the strip into the urine arrow end first. After 3 seconds, remove the strip and lay it flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbant surface.
- Observe the colour banded results after 5 minutes
Clear, colour banded results
Two dark bands: Positive result.
If you see two colour bands, with the test band the same shade or darker than the control band, a LH surge has been detected and you are most likely due to begin ovulating within 24-36 hours. To increase chances of conception, have intercourse the day you see this result and the day after.
One dark band and one pale band: Negative result.
If the test band appears lighter than the control band, or does not appear at all, the result is negative. Keep testing for the next few days.
No bands: Invalid result.
If no coloured bands appear in the control or test regions, the result is considered invalid. This is probably because of insufficient urine volume or incorrect procedure. Try again with a new test and make sure you follow directions exactly.
